Product Overview
KL47 is designed for sealing rods, pistons, and plungers in hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic presses. It is extremely suitable for medium-duty to heavy-duty applications. It effectively handles low and high pressure, vigorous conditions, and misalignment between sealing gaps.
The distinctive hinge-like action of each KL47 ring permits immediate reaction even to minor pressure changes. Each individual lip of the KL47 independently reacts to pressure, automatically effecting a seal. Multiple lip configurations ensure pressure is distributed evenly along the shaft.
This seal is a high-performance combination of a Base seal, center V-Ring, and pressure ring. The center ring serves as the main flexible seal for high/low pressure retention, while the base seal prevents extrusion under high pressure. The pressure ring maintains the profile and distributes force equally.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the primary applications for the KL47 seal?
The KL47 is designed for sealing rods, pistons, and plungers in hydraulic cylinders and presses, particularly in valves, pumps, and dry running systems.
What is the maximum pressure and temperature range for this seal?
The KL47 seal can withstand a maximum pressure of 350 Bar and operates within a temperature range of -70°C to +260°C.
How does the KL47 handle pressure changes?
It features a distinctive hinge-like action that allows for immediate reaction to minor pressure changes. The multiple lip configuration ensures an effective seal along the shaft.
What materials are used in the construction of KL47?
The main sealing components are made from high-performance PTFE, often paired with a stainless steel spring for optimal tension and durability.
What are the components of a standard KL47 seal set?
A standard set typically includes one base ring, one or three V-seals (center rings), and one pressure ring. Extra center rings can be added to adjust groove height.
Is this seal suitable for chemical or food industry use?
Yes, due to its wide chemical compatibility and temperature resistance, it is highly suitable for both the chemical and food industries.
